Volunteer Opportunities
Emergency Worker Program
Grant County Emergency Management maintains
a list of volunteer resources available to
assist during emergencies.
Due to the nature of our rural community,
volunteers are critical to supplement local
government responders during crises. This
list will be used to inventory and catalog
volunteer personnel and equipment available
to support local agencies and respond to
local emergencies.
The State of Washington Emergency Worker
Program (WAC 118-04) protects volunteers
during emergency activities, providing
coverage for the volunteer’s personal injury
and damaged property. To be covered, a
volunteer must be registered as an emergency
worker with a county within Washington
State. The preference is to have people
registered prior to an incident. This
ensures all paperwork is in place, including
a criminal background check.
To apply, please contact Grant County
Emergency Management at 762-1462 and request
an Emergency Worker Application.
American Red Cross - Apple Valley Chapter
There are numerous ways
you can help. One is by becoming a Red Cross
service volunteer. We can match almost any skill
with a need or teach you new skills you can use
for a lifetime. Or, if qualified, you may want
to join our ranks as a leadership volunteer and
help direct our chapter's course of activities.
